ABOUT ::
Dhyana Yoga has been training Yoga teachers since 2002. Our lead Teacher Trainers are experienced, full time, devoted Yoga Teachers, John and Diana Vitarelli. When you train at Dhyana Yoga, you can be sure you will be under the guidance of teachers who are experts in their field. Many of our graduates note that they chose Dhyana Yoga because we have spent 15 years training teachers, refining our content, and over those years, have gained a unique perspective on the inner workings not only of the practice, but also of the business side of Yoga, all of which we are able to pass on to you. Setting us apart from other teacher training programs, we have developed a method to personalize each student’s experience, creating a unique syllabus for every trainee, enabling us to work closely with every future teacher.

This program is offered to aspiring teachers, but also designed for any student with a desire to learn more about Yoga theory, practice, and philosophy. Dhyana Yoga is a Registered School through the Yoga Alliance and our graduates are internationally recognized and hired at gyms, studios, spas, cruise ships, retreat centers, and are also able teach one on one private lessons to their students.

The standards of Dhyana Yoga’s Teacher Training exceed the national standards for Yoga Training Schools in both the amount of hours we provide and in the scope of content, so you will graduate with more information and experience hours than the average teacher training graduate, putting you out ahead from the start.

We believe that every student is a teacher for tomorrow, and are committed to pouring ourselves into this program in order to pass on absolutely everything we know so you will be ready to teach promptly upon graduation. You will be treated with the care and attention you deserve at this pivotal time, and will never get lost in the crowd or overlooked at Dhyana Yoga.

Alignment Techniques for a Sustainable Yoga Practice and

Ayurvedic Lifestyle Tips

Saturday and Sunday September 23rd and 24th 12-5pm each day

141108GreerDicksonYogaSPT-009 2.13.09 PM

with Richmond Dickson at Dhyana Yoga Rittenhouse

Today’s yoga instruction has become heavily influenced by Western anatomical language and cueing. The problem that this presents is that it leads the mind toward the intellectual and away from the experiential, and over exerts the physical body, at its own detriment, in pursuit of an external form. In this informative and transformative workshop you will uncover and unravel the mysteries and intricacies of functional movement and alignment, and come to better understand how injuries are caused by a yoga practice that is overly willful. You will obtain a general understanding of the gross anatomical features of muscles, bones and fascia and how the body, by way of the myofascial matrix, uses a  fluid dynamic system to create balance in structure and ease in movement. As you learn to listen and respond to these subtle energetics you will integrate a new awareness into the physical practice of yoga, which will lead you beyond the obstructions and limitations of your practice.

Richmond Dickson began practicing and studying yoga, and massage therapy and bodywork in 2001. His understanding and awareness of the physical and energetic forms of the body stem from his training in myofascial and musculo-skeletal anatomy at the Core Institute School of Massage Therapy and Bodywork, where he went on to head the Department of Sciences. Richmond has worked his entire professional career, as a Licensed Massage Therapist and yoga instructor, to help his clients better understand their postural habits and dysfunctional patterns for the purpose of reducing injury, and/or rehabilitating and reducing chronic pain syndromes. Richmond has a degree in Alternative Medicine, is an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant and Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, and is the founder and owner of The New England School of Therapeutics. Yoga Puncture with Lauren, Meg and Sandra

Sunday, September 24th 1-4pm at DY Northern Liberties

This 3 hour workshop will incorporate the best of Yoga, Accupuncture and Essential Oils all into one afternoon.  Students will be led through a 75 Minute gentle flow to stoke their inner fire, restore balance and create space to receive more.  During our flow, breathe in essential oils and witness the healing and detoxifying properties they can provide.
Prepare to float away during this unique 30 minute savasana. Acupuncture needles will be inserted in some of the most balancing, restoring and deeply healing points on the body – in the ear, between the eyebrows and possibly the hands or feet, depending on how the practitioner is intuitively guided to fit your individual needs.
We will wake up slowly and have time for any questions about yoga, acupuncture or essential oils post-practice.
Megan Conover, L.Ac. is a board certified licensed acupuncturist and Master level Reiki practitioner at Healing Place Acupuncture in Wayne, PA. She began her holistic health path at Yoga Life Institute doing TT1 and progressed to Acupuncture thereafter. Megan’s passionate about working with the body mind and spirit. Megan specializes in emotional imbalances for which she employs esoteric acupuncture concepts, digestive disorders which often are a result of stress, and facial rejuvenation acupuncture as an alternative to Botox and fillers.
Sandra Letherland works as a full time therapist and incorporates the use of essential oils into mindfulness activities, meditation and yoga practice.  When not working with patients, Sandra shares her passion for essential oils with individuals everywhere, encouraging people to explore natural lifestyles by eliminating toxins in their homes and in their lives.

Meditation is the most natural way to create more of what matters most to you in life. This two-day Meditation Training allows you to establish (or deepen) a meditation practice which will lead to a more meaningful, satisfying, and joyful life. Rooted in the wisdom of ancient Vedic tradition, Primordial Sound Meditation is an authentic methodology that was revitalized by Deepak Chopra. According to tradition, as you journey from activity to silence you open new possibilities for physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

During this program we will explore proof of the effectiveness of meditation and you will receive expert guidance on the practical aspects of meditation – including how to sit, when to meditate, how long to meditate, how to overcome obstacles and other experiences during meditation. You are also invited to participate in a very special one-to-one personal instruction ceremony, in which you will be given a personal mantra based on the exact time, date, and location of your birth. This mantra is the sound that the universe was making the moment you were born. Primordial Sound Meditation tradition says that your personal mantra is the vehicle that will take you from activity to inner silence.

Whether it is your first time trying meditation, or if you have a regular practice, you will create a new experience around meditation that will transform your everyday life. Join us and learn how to receive the full physical and emotional benefits of meditation. This powerful program will help you dissolve accumulated stress, reveal the stillness within, and renew your passion for life.
